About Us
Duratray Suspended Dump Body System
Higher Productivity,
Lower Operating Costs,
Increased Profits
The revolutionary Duratray Suspended
Dump Body System (SDBS) has been
proven in mines and quarries around
the world. The Duratray SDBS improves
productivity, reduces costs, and delivers
higher profits.

Benefits
 |
Increased
payload. When compared with standard,
lined steel dump bodies, the Duratray
SDBS weighs substantially less, and the unique suspension
system allows for significant gains
in load volume. This can all be done without exceeding the
truck manufacturer’s gross vehicle
weight specification. |
 |
Reduction
of carry back. Because dirt and clay will
not stick or freeze to a surface that
continually stretches and flexes, carry back is virtually
eliminated, preventing build-up and
increasing the effective payload for each haul cycle. |
 |
Longer
wear life. Originally developed for hard rock
mining, the rubber wear mat (floor) of
the Duratray SDBS is designed for a service life of up to
20,000 hours. |
 |
Reduced
maintenance cost. The Duratray SDBS is virtually
maintenance free. Routine
suspension rope adjustment or replacement typically occurs
within normal truck maintenance
intervals. The need for welding is eliminated unless the
steel frame is damaged during loading. |
 |
Noise
and shock reduction. The rubber wear mat and elastomer
suspension absorb loading
shock, preventing transfer of the impact to the truck chassis,
instrumentation, and operator. In
addition, noise from loading and dumping is significantly
reduced. |
Design Features
The SDBS design consists of Duratray’s exclusive wear
mat, which is anchored to the front and
sides of a steel frame and suspended on an adjustable elastomeric
transverse rope system.
The wear mat is made from an extremely abrasion-resistant rubber
compound unique to the
Duratray. The ropes are manufactured of polyester fibers dimensioned
for the required load
factor and protected by a rubber covering.
The Duratray SDBS frame is manufactured of high
strength steel. Steel liners made of 500
Brinnell steel are included as standard on front and side walls
that come in contact with
payload. Rock ejectors and canopy eyebrows are standard.

Customized Design Features
Duratray North America customizes each Duratray SDBS to fit
a customer’s requirements
with regard to truck type, target payload, load height, material
density and abrasiveness,
and external dimensions.
